The Humanist Foundation of Québec (FHQ) and the Humanist Association of Québec (AHQ)presented the Humanist Award 2013 to the Quebec Association for the Right to Die in Dignity (AQDMD). The AQDMD is the first recipient of this award, created this year and consisting of a $ 5,000 grant. The World Federation congratulates AQDMD and its President Hélène Bolduc with this prize and is proud of having AQDMD in its membership. “The Quebec Humanist Award rewards persons or organizations, that are exemplary in the promotion of humanistic values and critical thinking in Quebec,” says Édouard Boily, president of the FHQ. “We hope that this award will boost the affirmation of the ideals of secular humanism which are a guarantee of democracy and empowerment.”
