UK House of Lords votes down assisted dying amendment

This month an amendment to a Health and Care Bill that would have required UK Government action on assisted dying is voted down by the House of Lords. The amendment would have required the government to draft a bill on assisted dying within a year and lay it before Parliament. The vote was 179 votes against and 145 votes in favour.

Last October, the UK House of Lords discussed the Assisted Dying Bill introduced earlier that year.
