California’s End of Life Option Act taken to the Supreme Court

On January 8, the opponents of California’s End of Life Option Act have petitioned the California Supreme Court to review last year’s Fourth Court of Appeal decision denying them standing in the case. Last November the Fourth District Court of Appeal overturned the District Court decision nullifying the End of Life Option Act.

Although doctors can opt out of prescribing medications under the Act, with no repercussions, the opponents argue the law harms them somehow.
