New attempt to introduce laws to decriminalise assisted suicide in Isle of Man

Manx Radiop reports: Rushen Manx House of Keys member Juan Watterson will ask for political backing to introduce new laws decriminalising assisted suicide this week.In the House of Keys he’ll ask MHKs for leave to introduce new laws to allow assisted dying. It’s after a petition for redress of grievance was handed to Tywnald by Millie Blenkinsop-French last July asking for the law to be changed. The last attempt to introduce similar legislation was more than a decade ago (to be precise in May 2003), when former MHKs Patrick Kneen, John Rimmington and Quintin Gill tried unsuccessfully to persuade politicians to change the law.
