Banana Triangle Six (2022)
This is a narrative short film (approx. 23 minutes) directed by Marc Crandall. It is an adaptation of a short story by Louis Bayard (author of The Pale Blue Eye).
Plot Summary: The story is a dark comedy/drama set in a retirement home (“Morning Has Broken” or “Spring Valley” in some descriptions). It follows an elderly resident named Hank Crute who is struggling with memory loss. His day takes an ominous turn when he receives an unexpected visit from a Dr. Landis, a representative from a “transition” agency called Timely Endings. She is there to assess his cognitive faculties to see if he meets the criteria for a contract he signed years ago, one that dictates his life should end if his memory fails.
