This March, the Belgian Federal Control and Evaluation Commission on Euthanasia published a press release about the euthanasia numbers of 2021.
The figures relate to the registration documents examined by the Commission of the patients who received euthanasia in the period between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021. A detailed analysis of the declared euthanasias in 2021 will be found in the Commission’s biennial report (covering all data from 2020 and 2021). Below you find the press release in French and Dutch:
