The case concerns Dr. Jan Rodenback who performed euthanasia on a 92-year-old man at his own and his family’s request at the end of 2021. Days later the doctor was arrested for not having followed the correct procedure; while the man’s GP and the emergency doctor both supported performing euthanasia, it was not formally reported.
The court ruled what while it was a procedural error, it did not violate the basic conditions of the law.
