Finland: Survey shows four out of five support euthanasia

A poll of 1,012 Finnish carried out on behalf of national news agency Yle found that four out of five citizens support assisted dying for those suffering.
Juha Hänninen, chair of Oikeus arvokkaaseen kuolemaan, the Finnish right to die society and Head of the Terhokoti palliative care unit in Helsinki said, “Support for euthanasia has remained pretty stable.”

Oikeus recently launched a petition to force parliament to consider legalising euthanasia. The petition currently has 53,483 signatures (as at 14-4-2024). The right to a dignified death – for the Euthanasia Act (oakry.fi)
