YourLastRight.com – Australia’s national alliance of State and Territory dying-with-dignity and voluntary euthanasia societies – has announced this month the results of the latest national Newspoll research on voluntary euthanasia (VE). The comprehensive study shows that:
- an overwhelming majority of voters continue to advocate VE law reform
- attitudes in favour of law reform are more deeply entrenched than opposing attitudes
- considerably more voters will vote against their “usual” candidate or party if the candidate is opposed to VE law reform, than will if the candidate advocates reform.
