Cases Attracting Media Attention

A decision in July this year in the case of Peter K. is seen as helpful. It strengthens a patientā€™s right to self-determination and clarifies important areas of conflict, for example by stating clearly that feeding by injection without the patientā€™s consent is illegal. ā€œAn end to artificial feeding should not have been refused. Living wills, even expressed only orally, are also binding on care authorities.ā€
