NVVE, Dutch RtD Society, has developed a school curriculum program called âEuthanasia â “dead normal”â, a project to bolster public support and acceptance of euthanasia. The curriculum, launched in September, aims to provide high school students with âaccessible informationâ about euthanasia, helping them to âhave respectâ for those who chose to end their lives.
There are videos offering âdifferentâ (though all supportive) perspectives on euthanasia: about a 26 year old woman with muscular dystrophy who opted for euthanasia; a 17 year old girl whoâs grandmother asked for euthanasia; and a doctor who performs euthanasia.
There is also an infographic (in Dutch only) guiding students through the steps involved in euthanasia. At the end of the materials one finds a âblack humourâ section, intended to lighten up the rather heavy subject for youngsters.
