Hurdle for New Zealand legislation initiative?

As reported earlier on this site, Maryan Street withdrew her Assisted Dying Bill, which was in the ballot awaiting Parliamentary debate.  Maryan Street planned to put the bill back in the ballot box at the start of the new political term after the election in 2014.  But the new Labour Party leader, Andrew Little, has given instructions to the MP who was to re-introduce the End of Life Choice Bill (Maryan Street’s Bill) that he is not to do so because they have ‘more important things to deal with’.  This is very disappointing but Maryan Street is looking at other options.
