On March 7, The Maryland House of Delegates passed a death with dignity bill.
Lawmakers voted 74–66 in favor of the End-of-Life Option Act.
The bill has now moved to the Maryland Senate where it, as Senate Bill 311, awaites a new voting.
If the bill would become law, it would allow qualified, terminally-ill adult residents of Maryland to legally obtain a prescription from their physician for medications to end their life peacefully, in a dignified way, at the place and time of their choosing.
