Is Dutch euthanasia law adapted to allow dying assistance when demented?

Press communiqué’s (a.o. Dutch News NL) have suggested that “the guidelines  for performing euthanasia on people with severe dementia have been relaxed a little”. It turns out to be written assistance document for doctors and patients, emphasizing what the law already allows in situations of dementia: an undeniable situation of suffering, in combination with an explicit  Advance Directive focussing on dementia, which has been discussed between doctor and patient more the once, i.e. regularly in the period before the actual application. So, the law is still the law.
