We just received the sad news from his daughter of the passing ub his sleep on 6 October 2017 in Bogota of Juan Mendoza Vega (84), WF President from 2008 – 2010. Juan was neurosurgeon. He was Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rosario since 1969, where he taught the History of medicine and medical ethics. At the time of his death Juan served as President of the Foundation Right to Die with Dignity (DMD Colombia), which promotes the right of the terminally ill to have free and legally now die peacefully, avoiding the painful disease consequences and promoting the freedom to choose “how go”. Juan Mendoza Vega will be remembered as one of the most prominent medical humanists of Colombia, a true campaigner for the right to die in dignity.May he rest in peace.
