In their Newsletter no 32 (July 2011), Lilach (Live and Die With Dignity), published an article from retired Justice Eliahu Matza, current President of Lilach, about their suggestions to amend the existing Law for the Terminally Ill Patient.These suggestions are:

  • the law should not only apply to “the terminally ill patient (death expected within 6 month’s)”, but also to “the incurable patient”;
  • the law should include palliative treatment as a type of treatment an incurable patient is entitled to receive
  • to add in the Law’s objectives “human dignity and the right to privacy”.
