On 15 January in Luxembourg, Socialist (LSAP) and Greens representatives presented a joint draft bill that would radically change Luxembourg law on euthanasia.
The proposed bill includes legislation that would absolve doctors from prosecution if they assist in the death of terminally ill patients.
Under the law, an independent commission would be set up to decide on the wishes of the patient and determine whether a request for euthanasia from a physician has been made with a clear mind and full understanding of the consequences.
