MONTANA: third state with “legalised” physicians aid in dying

Because of the ruling of the Montana Supreme Court in Baxter vs Montana, physician assisted suicide (PAS) is now openly allowed in Montana. The ruling read that nothing in Montana Law is preventing PAS and that therefore “it is not illegal”. This makes Montana actually the third USA State where PAS may be practiced.

Unlike the other two States (Oregon and Washington), Montana has now an allowed practice of PAS without regulations.
Advocacygroup Compassion & Choices announced at a press conference in Helena, Montana, they will launch a public education program. It is said, that at least one Montana patient has been helped by a doctor to end his life after the Supreme Court ruling.

On the C&C website you can find further details of the situation in Montana.
