A group of Icelanders, with the support of the Icelandic Humanists, has established a new RtD group, named Lífsvirðing (meaning “respect for life”) on January 26, 2017. Objectives are to
- initiate an open, constructive en comprehensive debate in society about dying and euthanasia
- strive for legalisation for Termination of Life on Request; euthanasia to become a humane option for individuals that want to die with dignity
- provide information on euthanasia
- organise meetings and conferences
