The Economist backs assisted dying

On November 13, the British newspaper The Economist took position in the debate on assisted dying. In a leader with as title “The welcome spread of assisted dying”, the subtitle was: “But too many are still denied this basic freedom”. The article was accompanied by a backgrounder.

According to BioEdge, an online platform on bio-ethical newsitems all around the world, the leaders (editorials) and backgrounders of The Economist are extremely influential, so its stand on euthanasia is bound to affect the debate.
