Documentary on Psychiatry and the Right to a dignified Death

At the WF Conference Euthanasia2016 in Amsterdam, a documentary called “Mothers don’t jump off buildings” was screened, directed by Elena Lindemans. Her mother struggles for a long time with an unbearable mental illness before she asked for euthanasia. The request is not processed.  On 25 February 2002 she jumps – with the knowledge of her daughters and a friend – a flat. In ‘ Mothers don’t jump off flats ‘ Elena tries to sort out, twelve years later, why her mother did not have her euthanasia request complied with, going back to the flat for the first time. It is an impressive documentary – see the English subtitled version here. (NB when asked for a password use: Ela&Lin_02)
