On October 10, Martha Sepúlveda, suffering from ALS, was scheduled to be the first person in Colombia to die by legally authorized euthanasia, without having a terminal prognosis. However, a few days before the euthanasia would take place, it was blocked.
The Colombian Pain Institute, where Sepúlveda was to die, ruled that her condition had improved from July to October and that it could no longer take place.
