On February 24, our member Death with Dignity brought us again a new update on the developments in the USA. Minnesota and Florida introduced Death with Dignity bills, death with dignity is protected in Montana and a series of bills looking to expand access in states where Death with Dignity is already legal continue to make progress:
- Minnesota and Florida Introduce Death with Dignity Bills| This week, two more states introduced bills to legalize medical aid in dying. This means that over a dozen states have filed bills to expand or introduce Death with Dignity across the country!
- Death with Dignity is Protected in Montana| A strong attempt to make Death with Dignity effectively illegal in Montana failed this week! The bill, SB210, was defeated in the Montana Senate. You can read more about it here. We are grateful for all of the activists in Montana who made their voices heard to protect medical aid in dying!
- Bills to Expand Access to Death with Dignity Make Progress| A series of bills looking to expand access in states where Death with Dignity is already legal continue to make progress.
- Hear from our CEO Dr. Peg Sandeen on March 2| In less than a week, we will be hosting our March Supporter Briefing. RSVP now to reserve your spot and learn more about what is going on across the country.
