Netherlands: former Prime Minister and his wife die by euthanasia

Former Dutch Prime Minister Dries van Agt and his wife – both 93 years – died by euthanasia according to The Rights Forum, a human rights organization he founded to seek a just solution in Palestine. As leader of the right-wing Liberal Party (CDA), Van Agt governed the Netherlands from 1977 to 1981. Outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte said, β€œWith his flowery and unique language, his clear convictions and his striking presentation, Dries van Agt gave color and substance to Dutch politics in a time of polarization and party renewal.”
