Vermont: residency requirement for assisted dying removed

Vermont’s medically assisted death allowing terminally ill Vermont residents access to life-ending care was amended on Tuesday May 2nd when Governor Phil Scott signed a bill effectively eliminating the residency requirement.

The amendment came as a 75-year-old Connecticut resident argued that the restriction was unconstitutional.
