Assisted dying (see definition here) in some form is legal in the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Austria, all the six states in Australia (Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales), and in 11 USA states (Oregon, Washington, Vermont, Montana, Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, New Jersey, Maine and New Mexico). It differs per country how assisted dying is legalized.  

1. Germany (1871-act): Assisted suicide is, under conditions, allowed. Euthanasia is strictly forbidden. 
2. Switzerland (1937-act): Assisted suicide is, under conditions, allowed by the criminal law of 1937. Euthanasia is strictly forbidden. 
3. Colombia (1997-lawsuit): Euthanasia is, under conditions, not punishable. Assisted suicide is still forbidden. 
4. USA-Oregon (1997-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
5. The Netherlands (2001-law): As well euthanasia as assisted suicide are, under conditions and done by a physician, allowed.
6. Belgium (2002-law): As well euthanasia as assisted suicide are, under conditions and done by a physician, allowed.
7. Luxembourg (2009-law): As well euthanasia as assisted suicide are, under conditions and done by a physician, allowed.
8. USA-Washington (2009-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
9. USA-Montana (2009-lawsuit): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, not punishable.
10. Canada (2016-law): Assisted suicide and euthanasia are, under conditions and done by a physician, allowed. 
11. USA-Vermont (2013-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
12. USA-California (2016-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
13. USA-Colorado (2016-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
14. USA-District of Columbia (2017-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed.  
15. AUS-Victoria (2017-act): Voluntary Assisted Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
16. AUS-Western Australia (2019-act): Voluntary Assisted Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
17. USA-Hawaii (2019-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
18. USA-New Jersey (2019-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
19. USA-Maine (2019-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
20. New Zealand (2020-law): Assisted dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
21. AUS-Tasmania (2021-act): Voluntary Assisted Dying is, under conditions, allowed. 
22. AUS-South Australia (2021-act): Voluntary Assisted Dying is, under conditions, allowed.  
23. AUS-Queensland (2021-act): Voluntary Assisted Dying is, under conditions, allowed.
24. Spain (2021-law): As well euthanasia as assisted suicide are, under conditions and done by a physician, allowed.
25. USA-New Mexico (2021-act): Medical Aid in Dying is, under conditions, allowed.  
26. Austria (2022-law): Assisted suicide is, under conditions, allowed.
27. Portugal (2022-law): Medical aid in dying is, under conditions, allowed.
